Incineration Competes With Recycling, and Frederick's New Recycling Program Has Not Been Given a Chance

Frederick County now operates a single-stream recycling program. The county school system is in the beginning stages of adopting its first widespread recycling program. We need to give large organizations such as our schools, offices, and college campuses time to adapt to the newer more expansive recycling program. Let’s give recycling a chance to prove itself. Many believe that single-stream recycling will not only lift the county to above 44% in recycling participation. However, it could reach as high as 70% with the right education and incentives to the public.
