Carroll County Commissioner Candidate Michelle Jefferson (District 3)

Opposed to the waste-to-energy incinerator

"I do not support building the incinerator whether it would be a joint effort or not. There are plenty of other options that we can do and try that aren't going to cost us anything or hardly anything at all."

According to Michelle Jefferson's website:

This board of commissioners [Carroll County] has gotten us into many situations that cost us millions and we don’t receive anything tangible except the bill.

Carroll has never implemented a mandatory recycling effort nor has it been creative on different ways to lessen the amount of trash each house or business generates. Common sense tells us that we should explore other options before moving forward with the WTE Incinerator.

I challenge every Carroll citizen to contact their trash company and request a blue recycling bin. If they charge you for a bin, click here to print out a recycling symbol that you can stick onto one of your containers and notify the trash company that you expect their recycling truck to pick up your recycling.
